Event #1 May 10. Celebrate at NLS with your child from 3:30-4:30 pm. A lovely snack time while we all play at NLS together.

Celebrate Mother's Day with a Serene Forest Bathing Experience!
Dear NLS Moms, Grandmas, and Close Friends,
This Mother's Day, we invite you to embark on a transformative journey into the heart of nature with Monica Mendoza, a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT). Monica's passion lies in guiding people of all ages into a place of stillness, where connection with the natural world can be deeply felt and embraced.
🌲 Date: May 15
🌳 Time: 6:00pm-8:30 pm
🌼 Duration: 2.5 hours
🍃 Location: TBD- Likely Ancil Hoffman Area
💐 Cost: $25 per person
What to Expect:
Monica will lead us through a series of immersive, sensory-opening "invitations," carefully crafted to awaken our senses and foster a profound connection with the More-Than-Human World surrounding us. Together, we'll celebrate the Mother that we all share—Mother Nature—who offers us places to play, explore, learn, and grow. Just as we honor our mothers or mother figures, let's also spend time with Mother Nature in a relationship of reciprocity and gratitude.
Why Forest Bathing?
Science has shown that Forest Bathing offers remarkable physical and psychological benefits. By immersing ourselves in nature, we can lower our heart rate, reduce stress levels, elevate our mood, and strengthen our immune system. This experience isn't just about relaxation; it's about nourishing our mind, body, and spirit in harmony with the natural world.
How to Prepare:
- Dress comfortably in layers, suitable for the weather.
- Bring a water bottle and any personal items you may need.
- Bring Mosquito repellent in case necessary.
- Leave behind the distractions of technology and embrace the present moment.
